Welcome to my archive of stories—where ancient echoes and forgotten myths, and unexpected mischief find new life. I’m Ophidian Khan, author of The Serpent Scrolls and creator of the Tales of the Snake Men saga. My journey began with a love for retro fantasy, 1980s cartoon villains, and the power of transformation. Over time, these influences became a way to explore deeper truths: identity, memory, inner conflict, and healing.

Author and Storyteller
But not all stories must descend from the sacred scrolls. Some rise from everyday absurdities. Alongside mythic sagas, this blog features short stories inspired by real life’s quieter chaos—those small, bizarre, or touching moments that somehow stick with us. Think of them as fables from the other side of the mirror. Strange. Funny. Occasionally wise.
My mission is to craft stories that are both thrilling and thoughtful—tales that honor the past while daring to imagine what’s buried beneath. Whether through dark fantasy epics, surreal allegories, or a slice-of-life short with unexpected teeth. I believe storytelling is a sacred act of remembering.
Much of the imagery across this site comes from reimagined toy photography—figures posed, lit, and captured by hand, then transformed into gritty comic-style visuals using AI collaboration. With the help of AI, these scenes evolve from plastic and shadow into living myth, breathing visual life into the characters that haunt my stories.
The same goes for the writing process—while every story is original and deeply personal, I often refine dialogue, deepen emotional threads, and explore new angles with the help of AI. Think of it not as replacement, but as creative enhancement—like an extra hand in the scriptorium.
This space is a sanctuary for those who love immersive world-building, pulp aesthetics, characters who wrestle with their fate, and stories with both bite and wit. Some tales will strike like a serpent. Others simply raise an eyebrow and smirk. All of them, in their own way, are part of a living scroll that continues to evolve.
I’m glad you’re here. The scrolls are open. Wander freely… and watch your step. Some tales bite back.
