Villains After Dark: Dark Specter Didn’t Budget for This

Villains After Dark proves that even the most feared villains and heros need downtime—and that neutral ground is a fragile thing when egos, old grudges, and bad decisions are served by the mug.
Neutral Ground Beneath the Throne Room
Beneath the throne room of Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd, past stone corridors warded against grudges and vendettas, the tavern existed on one fragile rule:
Neutral ground.
The Psycho Rangers understood that rule better than most.
They just didn’t respect it.
Green lounged at the table, dagger lifted in a crooked toast, visor angled toward the far end of the room. He wasn’t watching the mugs anymore. He was watching the drunk Tenga behind Blue, running his mouth:
“Psycho this, Psycho that—big talk for someone who couldn’t even beat the B-team Rangers!”
Blue—already one drink too many in and the group’s hothead—was fuming, struggling to keep control.
The Tenga continued, “You think you’re so dangerous? Please. You’re just Dark Specter’s failed science project. We’re WARRIORS!” as he pounded his chest.
The Chair Hit the Floor First
Blue stood up slowly and methodically.
“Oh,” Green said softly, amused. “This is going to be good.”
Red followed his gaze. The Tenga Warrior was laughing loudly, wings sagging, words slurred and sharp with liquid courage. Insults spilled freely now—half-jokes, half-dares.
Red took a long drink. He didn’t blink.
Silver watched as Blue’s chair scraped back. One leg caught. The chair tipped and clattered to the floor as Blue rose in a single, fluid motion.
“Failed science project? Maybe. But I’m still standing. You’re about to be horizontal.”
The Tenga was about to return the sass when…
WHAM.
Blue’s uppercut landed clean, snapping the Tenga’s head back and lifting him off his feet in one brutal arc clear off the ground. Feathers scattered. Tankards rattled. The tavern froze—then immediately looked away.
Green laughed, sharp and delighted. “He asked for that.”
Alcohol Was Never Part of the Agreement
Red set his mug down, satisfied.
“Worth it.”
Silver lifted his tankard at last, calm as ever. “Technically,” he said, “the fight didn’t start until the chair hit the floor.”
The overturned chair lay where it had fallen—unbroken, innocent, and quietly implicated. The walls absorbed the impact without judgment. They always did.
Neutral ground still held.
Barely.
And beneath the throne room, the night remembered why alcohol had never been part of the agreement.
